  1. Final Fantasy XIII.

Yes, I know you like it, Rob. But I'm being honest when I say it was the worst RPG I've EVER played. And I own almost the whole PS1 RPG library.

  2. I would have to say MGS2. I remember playing that game for the 1st time and being disappointed with it after I beat the game. I remember in the game magazines it showed of Snake and didn't mention Raiden at all. And the storyline was unexpected, but other the years I grew to like it.

  3. Fsh, I don't know...most recently I'd say Batman: Arkham City. It was good, but I had higher hopes.

  4. Definitely Zelda twilight princess in my case. I bought it for the gamecube at the european launch, and it just felt like an inferior version to OOT. The landscapes were huge but empty, and the characters lacked the charm that they had in OOT.

Still, every swedish gaming magazine gave the fucking game 10/10 with few exceptions.

It feels like the most hyped up game ever still to this day. The audience reaction when it was announced at E3 2004 is just priceless.

Such a waste of potential. This game started the downfall of the series.

  5. I want to say Final Fantasy XIII but I can't say I was really surprised. XIV, however, god fucking dammit. I was looking forward to it after having played Final Fantasy XI for years. What I saw from people playing the alpha looked good but ever since the beta came out it was apparent that the game was shit. Boring combat, copy and pasted environments, uninspired questing that's even more mindless than WoW's, no endgame combat. I'm glad I didn't pre-order it.

    1. Err, content. That should say no endgame content. Which they then blamed the fans for leveling too fast. I also forgot the worst part which is the game limiting the amount of time you spend getting exp.

  7. Final Fantasy XIII was alright the FIRST time through but it really isn't a RPG at all, there is no reason to play through it again, it has extremely limited progression in how you advance AND level up, and compared to the older FF games it doesn't hold a candle, so yeah, that was one disappointment for sure...

I recently played Killzone 3 and honestly, the campaign.... was awful, I know you stuck up for it Rob but the story was just cringe worthy, don't even get me started on the ending, I would easily put it in my top 5 worst video game endings of all time, just atrocious.

There have been alot of disappointments for me in the past few years, honestly, it's really hard to pinpoint just one, gaming isn't what it used to be as you usually say Rob.

On a random side-note, I also think Capcom are totally raping the RE series, the original 3 will always be the best to me at least, I loved 4 the first time through but I found that it really doesn't hold up at all nowadays, I played it again recently and it's just like every other shooter out there, 5 was just more of the same as well.

GIVE ME BACK CLASSIC RESIDENT EVIL!

  8. Sonic Generations (console). I stopped liking Sonic ages ago but after seeing reviews I tried it out of curiosity. Ended up pissing me off so bad, cos it was a good concept but the execution's garbage, the song remixes are ear-rape, you can just blitz through the game if you ignore most of the challenges, all you do is spindash/boost and pray 99% of the time, and the biggest killer of the game is the ridiculously low jump-height, it's fucking terrible. Haven't tried the 3DS version so maybe it's better but I doubt it.

  9. RE5 and DMC 2. First ill start with DMC 2 i remember renting the first game a lot, from the blockbuster by my house back when i was in 7th grade. i played the hell out of that game it was just such a great game and when i heard that they were making a second one i was thrilled. i remember reading about it on gamespot and seeing screenshots of and just thinking to myself that the game was going to badass. So jump a head to 2003 and went out got the game to say the least i was very disappointed. The game was way too easy. Dante wasn't nearly as humorous as he was in the first game. The story terrible, and it was jsut so boring. Half of the time there was nothing to kill.

Now Re5 i know that you like it Rob, but i loved RE 4 not as much as Re1-3 but it was very good. RE5 i was very disappointed with at least RE4 had some with some horror in it but RE5 took place in the entire Daytime and the AI was just Atrocious in RE5. RE4 had better AI and that ps2 game. i was really hyped for it and it just didn't meet my exceptions neither RE5 nor DMC2.

Funny thing is as much as i was disappointed with DMC2, DMC3 is a fucking fantastic game and exceed exceptions. I am looking forward to RE6, heres hoping that it turns out to be good.

  10. For me, Fortune Summoners because it seemed like a great title with so much potential. Unfortunately, the game became unplayable due to horrendous controls where you slide all over the place, incredibly slow attack animations, unfair status effects that don't wear off, and almost psychic AI that can read your every move (since when are snakes and slimes so well trained in combat). What a letdown.

  11. Devil May Cry 2, Final Fantasy 13 and 13-2, Uncharted 3 (no single player shop), Banjo Kazzoie Nuts and Bolts, Soul Calibur Legends (worst Soul Calibur game), Chip and Dale 2 on the NES. That's all I can think of right now.

  13. Even though it was still a great ass game and it was one of the most visually pleasing games ever. I would say Dark Souls. This is not the most disappointing game but the most recent of mine. I felt that the open world made it so you had to constantly run back and forth place to place black smith to black smith. Even when you could transport it was still a pain in the ass. The bosses were either really easy are unbelievably cheap. The bosses were just big, the only fighting that was involved for most of them was going behind them or just swinging constantly before they kill you. The weapon balance was all fucked up and the online is just plain broken. And the game wasn't like Demons Souls, Dark Souls is unfair 60% of the time. It also missed plenty that made Demons Souls great. The makers got cocky and said people like it because it was hard. It wasn't just that, Demons souls was a masterpiece unlike any game I have ever played. Dark Souls to me pulled a Ninja Gaiden 3. It wasn't the difficulty, it was the unique nature and the revolutionary online that made you think you were doing it for a reason. Dark souls basically had no online and fucked the game up severely in many other ways. I spent 5 months on Demons Souls, and 2 and a half weeks on Dark souls. Played Demons souls almost 20 times, played Dark souls twice. That says it all.

  17. For sure without a doubt RAGE.
    I love the gameplay.
    I love the shooting mechanics.
I love the grittyness and rawness of it.
    I just ending.
    So fucking dumb..

  18. Sonic the hedgehog (2006).

Do you really want me to go on about this piece of fucking feces? I think it's worse than action 52. I would trade this game for bomber man act zero for fuck sakes.

  21. The Beatles: Rock Band for me. I am a huge Beatles fan and I was almost completely let down by this game.
Along with having no compatibility for 3 guitar controllers and a drum kit (The Beatles played with 2 guitars, a base, and a drum kit), the setlist is pitifully short at only 45 songs compared to Rock Band 2's 84 (The Beatles recorded over 200 songs, by the way). Plus, there's no Help!, no Hey Jude, no Nowhere Man, no Let it be, no Yesterday, no Maxwell's Silver Hammer, no Roll Over Beethoven, no All My Lovin', no This Boy, no All You Need is Love, no When I'm 64, no The Night Before, no I Need you, no You're Gonna' Lose That Girl, I could go on. A LOT of good Beatles songs are missing from this so-called "collection."
