So What's Everyone's Mass Effect 3 Plans?

After all this commotion a lot of people have been canceling their preorders and I can't blame them. I know my brother is still going to buy it so I'll be watching him, but I'm not buying it at launch. Maybe down the road with a pack kinda like the ps3 Mass Effect 2 that comes with all dlc, but not now. How about you guys? Will you be playing Mass Effect 3 at launch?

  1. As much as I hate the idea of day one DLC (especially when it seems to involve such an important aspect of the Mass Effect universe), I've really been looking forward to this game for a long time and I just can't bring myself to let THAT alone prevent me from enjoying the title. Especially considering how a friend of mine is getting it too and I already promised that we could play the co-op mode together.

The ONLY plus I can think of when it comes to at least the PC version of Mass Effect 3 is that they did away with those stupid "BioWare points" and DLC will be sold directly through the Origin store. I hate it when you have to get addons from a different source which in turn likes to obfuscate how much things cost and only let you pay pre-defined amounts hoping there are funds left over that you just can't use (Microsoft points anyone?).

  3. To be honest I thought Mass Effect 1 was a mess of a game. And Mass Effect 2 was overrated and had a anticlimactic final level compared to the first, plus the main story line went no where. Im sure Mass Effect 3 will be the best of the series, but I am remaining skeptical. Mass Effects so called choices only make a tiny difference, and alter only a conversation or two. It is nothing like Witcher 2 or Heavy Rain choices; so the RPG choice part of the game could be better. However ME3 has some damn good combat, as well as great characters. It also seems like it is going to go out with a epic bang like ME1. I think the mass effects are quite overrated, I much prefer Witcher 2 or Demons Souls in terms of RPG's. ME3 looks promising though so I will rent it and probably not buy it. That doesn't mean that it is not going to be awesome though.

  4. I've never really been a fan of Mass Effect so I'm planning on giving it a pass. I preferred Dragon Age to Mass Effect but you know what happened to the second game in that series. From now on when it comes to Bioware I'm going to wait and see how it turns out no matter what series it happens to be.

  5. Definitely getting it further down the line. By the way Rob, could you please do a rant on the upcoming Oldboy remake? It's back into fruition now, and I can't be fucking doing with it.

  8. Being somehat of a recluse over the last number of weeks when it came to anything to do with gaming I completely missed out of the DLC news. In the last week though I managed to get my hands on the game (plus DLC) early and being a longtime fan of the series I couldn't wait to play it. Well I have played it through and gotten all endings including the (supposed) secret ending and this game is a complete waste of time. I am not going to spoil it for anyone here but if you are a longtime fan of the series then prepare to be disappointed. Silent Rob, I don't mean to annoy you by bringing this up as I have watched your videos on it but the way you felt about Skyrim is how I feel about this game now. I'm not going into the details about why because I don't want to spoil it for anyone but I expect that the fan base will express why in the coming days anyways. As for the DLC, I have seen actual articles posted about it being cut from the game simply to make a profit so basically they are selling an incomplete and as it turns out poorly written buggy game.
